Sento.io lands top US investor and closes €9 million funding round to build leading platform for structured data exchange in B2B Commerce
Less than 6 months since its last funding, the supply chain automation startup is announcing its next capital raise to accelerate growth and product development.
Munich – May 12th, 2022 – Sento.io, the next generation EDI platform making B2B data exchange automated and effortless, today announced €9 million in seed funding led by global software investor Insight Partners (New York). New angel investors Jan Deepen and Stefan Jeschonnek, co-founders of SumUp, joined the round, alongside existing investor Picus Capital and founders of Celonis, Zalando, Checkout.com (via Zinal Growth), and Operator Partners.
Built on the belief that B2B integration should be as simple as sending a friend request on social media platforms, Sento is on a mission to develop the leading platform for structured data exchange in B2B commerce. Co-founders Felix Krauth, Lucian Riediger, and Nimar Blume not only want to enable brands to connect to retailers, but aim to define the next generation of data sharing experience (DSX). The new influx of capital will allow Sento to advance towards that mission by massively accelerating team growth and product development.
"Our solution makes companies less dependent on manual B2B processes via fax, email or outdated integration technologies. It is our vision to create a global infrastructure that fundamentally changes how enterprises share data with each other - 100% cloud and API-based," explained Co-Founder and CEO Felix Krauth.
The decision to raise additional capital just six months after Sento’s pre-seed round was based on a milestone achievement for startups: exponential growth. Sento today enables problem-free connections to 85% of the DACH food retailers and has eight times as many customers as in November 2021. These include "rising stars" of the industry such as Waterdrop, vly, the nu company and Greenforce, as well as big names such as Markant Services International. Several million euros in sales are processed every month via Sento’s platform.
“Sento’s next-generation EDI platform is already showing potential to become the data layer for B2B transactions globally,” said Rachel Geller, Managing Director at Insight Partners. “Sento’s overwhelmingly positive customer feedback, strong founding team and vision to revolutionize a highly antiquated space made this investment very exciting for Insight. We look forward to partnering with Felix, Lucian and Nimar on this exciting next chapter for Sento.”
